My Success Track, Class 2 is the school diary on the Allied School Class 2 list for the 2027-28 session. It is a spiral-bound, blue-covered diary from Charles Baker Books Ltd, London, with boxes for School and Campus at the top, the title on a yellow banner, and two children washing their hands under the words ‘Wash Your Hands’.
A diary is the one book that goes home every day. It is where a teacher writes a note about homework, where a parent writes back, and where a child learns to take responsibility for their own day. This one is designed for a seven-year-old: pictures, icons and short prompts make it friendly, and the lines are spaced for large handwriting.
What each page contains (from the pages we photographed)
We photographed the first pages of the diary, which show how it works. There is no contents page, since a diary is used day by day, so here is what a page offers:
- A box for each school day. Day number (1, 2, 3 …), a small space for the day name, and four weather icons (sun, rain, wind, cloud) so a child can circle the weather.
- Message lines for the teacher or parent to write the day’s homework or note.
- An ‘After School’ strip with small pictures (a running child, a child reading) and three faces (happy, neutral, sad), so a child can mark how the afternoon went.
- Teacher’s Signature and Parent’s Message lines on every day, which makes the school-home link visible.
- A monthly character prompt at the top of the page: ‘Add a word that tells the kind of person you WANT TO BE’, with example words such as Helpful and Friendly.
- Homework planning prompts: ‘You have a lot of homework. Which idea will help you get it done? Circle it’, with pictures of doing homework, watching TV and playing a video game.
Why a diary matters in Class 2
At seven, children are learning to organise themselves. A daily diary teaches them to write down what is due, and a teacher’s signature and parent’s reply close the loop. The mood and weather icons make it enjoyable, and the character prompts quietly turn the diary into a habit-forming tool, not only a record. Parents who check the diary every evening are usually better informed and less surprised at exam time.
Making the diary a daily habit
Choose a fixed time, such as after dinner, to open the diary with your child. Read the teacher’s note, check the homework, let your child circle the weather and mood icons, and write a short reply on the Parent’s Message line. Ten minutes a day is enough, and it keeps the school and the home on the same page.
