The Activity Book of Cambridge Global English, APSACS Edition (Third edition), Level 4 is the practice partner of Learner’s Book 4 for Class 4 in Army Public Schools. It is published by Cambridge University Press and ‘Based on National Curriculum of Pakistan 2022, 2026 edition’. The green cover shows two children painting a snail on an easel. Available to order now for the 2027-28 session.
Each of the nine units has the same six lessons, ending in a Unit Revision and a ‘My global progress’ self-check. In Class 4 the lessons start to feel grown-up: a global penfriend, a thief at the Crown Jewels, an Australian emu story, and a trip to the museum in the Mona Lisa lesson.
Full table of contents: Units 1 to 9, every lesson and page
Every lesson title is listed below exactly as printed, with its page number.
Unit 1: Family circles
- 1. Vocabulary (p. 4)
- 2. Global children (p. 6)
- 3. Sporting talent! (p. 8)
- 4. Penfriends (p. 10)
- 5. The treasure (p. 12)
- 6. Unit 1 Revision (p. 14)
- My global progress (p. 15)
Why it helps: Penfriends gives a purpose to letter writing, and the vocabulary page makes sure the unit’s key words are written, not just read.
Unit 2: Stories
- 1. Reading (p. 16)
- 2. Superskills (p. 18)
- 3. Rules (p. 20)
- 4. Jake’s surprise (p. 22)
- 5. The Seekers (p. 24)
- 6. Unit 2 Revision (p. 26)
- My global progress (p. 27)
Why it helps: Reading and writing about superheroes, rules and a surprise keeps stories at the centre of the unit.
Unit 3: Day and night
- 1. Vocabulary (p. 28)
- 2. Planet Earth (p. 30)
- 3. Orbits (p. 32)
- 4. Nocturnal nature (p. 34)
- 5. Afraid of the dark (p. 36)
- 6. Unit 3 Revision (p. 40)
- My global progress (p. 41)
Why it helps: Planet Earth, orbits and nocturnal nature give the child plenty of science vocabulary to write with.
Unit 4: Homes
- 1. Listening (p. 42)
- 2. Buildings (p. 44)
- 3. Out and about (p. 46)
- 4. Famous places (p. 48)
- 5. The Hobbit (p. 50)
- 6. Unit 4 Revision (p. 52)
- My global progress (p. 53)
Why it helps: A listening page opens the unit, so the child practises hearing as well as writing.
Unit 5: Getting around
- 1. Vocabulary (p. 54)
- 2. Staying safe on the road (p. 56)
- 3. Getting around big cities (p. 58)
- 4. Sky-high ambition (p. 60)
- 5. Lost in the Desert (p. 62)
- 6. Unit 5 Revision (p. 64)
- My global progress (p. 65)
Why it helps: Staying safe on the road is a lesson parents want their children to take seriously, and the Lost in the Desert story gives a chance to practise narrative reading.
Unit 6: School lunch
- 1. Listening (p. 66)
- 2. Recycled art (p. 68)
- 3. Party plans (p. 70)
- 4. All about gum! (p. 72)
- 5. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (p. 74)
- 6. Unit 6 Revision (p. 76)
- My global progress (p. 77)
Why it helps: Recycled art and party plans combine English with creativity; ‘All about gum!’ is a favourite factual text.

- 1. Reading (p. 78)
- 2. Australia (p. 80)
- 3. Animal matters (p. 82)
- 4. Taking a trip (p. 84)
- 5. Why emus can’t fly (p. 86)
- 6. Unit 7 Revision (p. 88)
- My global progress (p. 89)
Why it helps: Animal matters teaches vocabulary for endangered animals, and the emu tale is a good example of a traditional story.
Unit 8: The human race
- 1. Listening (p. 90)
- 2. Aerobic exercise (p. 92)
- 3. The Crown Jewels (p. 94)
- 4. Guards stop thieves (p. 96)
- 5. The Mona Lisa (p. 98)
- 6. Unit 8 Revision (p. 100)
- My global progress (p. 101)
Why it helps: Aerobic exercise, the Crown Jewels and the Mona Lisa each give a different text type to read and write.
Unit 9: Looking backwards and forwards
- 1. Vocabulary (p. 102)
- 2. Holiday fun (p. 104)
- 3. Looking back (p. 106)
- 4. Planning activities (p. 108)
- 5. Back to school (p. 111)
- 6. Unit 9 Revision (p. 113)
- My global progress (p. 114)
Why it helps: The final unit helps the child look back over the year and plan ahead, and the Unit 9 Revision doubles as a year-end check.
Who is it for, why, and how to use it
It is for Class 4 children at Army Public Schools. One lesson (two pages) per sitting is enough. The ‘Unit Revision’ is a good practice test before the school exam, and the ‘My global progress’ page teaches the child to say what they can do now.

- Why: daily written practice that follows the Learner’s Book.
- When: alongside the Learner’s Book.
- Whom: Class 4 students.
Frequently asked questions
