Student Ability Profile is Allied School’s Prep-level assessment diary, published by Learning Support International (LSI) – not a workbook a child writes in, but a structured tracking tool a teacher (and parent) uses to record exactly where a Prep student stands, subject by subject.
What’s Inside
Each Key Learning Area is broken into a numbered list of specific, observable outcomes – for example, under Basic Mathematical Concepts: “Can write numbers from ___ to ___ in tens and units,” “Is able to write missing numbers in a sequence,” “Can count backwards from 10 to 0,” and similar concrete skills; under Urdu Language and Literacy, outcomes around word recognition and pronunciation. Every outcome is scored on the same four-point scale – All of the time, Most of the time, Some of the time, Not yet – with a running total and an obtained score per section, so progress across the term is a number, not a guess.
Why does a Prep class need this rather than just a report card? Because a report card tells you a grade at the end of term; this profile tells a teacher and a parent, outcome by outcome, exactly which specific skill still needs work while there’s still time in the session to work on it – which is when it’s actually useful, not after.
