I Can Read, Level 2 (a) is a set of four small picture readers for Nursery children of The Educators, available to order now for the 2027-28 session. The photograph shows all four covers fanned out together: Shopping, At the Park, Funfair and Rainy Day. Each cover carries The Educators crest and a “25” anniversary badge, and the two covers at the front are marked “Series ‘I Can Read’ Level 2 (a)” with the word “Nursery” on a yellow tag.

The four readers on the cover
- Shopping: a shop scene with a father and children looking at the shelves.
- At the Park: a mother and father sitting on a park bench under a tree, beneath a wooden “At the Park” sign.
- Funfair: a family at a fair with a merry-go-round, balloons and a small dog.
- Rainy Day: a boy and a girl playing with a ball in the rain, with a dog beside them.
Why it helps: these are four places and moments every three- and four-year-old in Pakistan already knows: going shopping with parents, an evening at the park, the mela, and rain. When a book shows something a child has already lived, the child can read the picture first and the words second. That is exactly how a “first reader” works: the picture does half the job, and the child feels “I can read this” very early. The series name, I Can Read, is built around that feeling.
How to use these readers with a Nursery child
- Picture walk first. Before reading a word, look at the cover and ask, “Where are they? What can you see?”
- Read to them, pointing. Run your finger under the words so your child learns that print goes from left to right.
- Let them join in. When a word repeats, pause and let your child say it.
- Talk about their own day. After Rainy Day: “Do you remember when we got wet in the rain?” After Funfair: “Which ride did you like?”
- Little and often. Five minutes a night with one book is better than one long session.
Why Level 2 (a)?
The cover calls this “Level 2 (a)” for Nursery. Reading series are graded in steps so the child moves up gently, and Level 2 normally follows a Level 1 set. If your child’s school list names a Level 2 pack, check that the cover reads “Level 2 (a)” and “Nursery” as on this set. If you are not sure, WhatsApp us the class and campus and we will confirm before we dispatch.
